The sources are organized in ten thematic virtual mini-collections, each of which contains exercises that can be used in the face-to-face, virtual, or hybrid classroom. Additionally, a comprehensive list of CAHC’s digitized primary sources has been compiled and made searchable for easy reference. The project also includes a workshop for educators and contributed additional digitized items to the public catalog.

The CAHC worked collaboratively to produce this project. The project’s Humanities Scholar, Dr. Marta Cieslak, curated sources for and created activities included in the ten thematic virtual mini-collections. Cody Besett oversaw the creation of a comprehensive list of CAHC’s digitized primary sources and supervised graduate assistants, Lauren Fontaine, AJ Fox, Brittany Fugate, and Harrison Mitchell, and an undergraduate intern, Scott Bradshaw, who all contributed to the project. Elise Tanner designed and developed the project’s website. Laura McClellan served as the project manager and provided administrative support. Dr. Deborah Baldwin was the project’s Principal Investigator.

About the Center

The UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture strives to be a unique and reliable resource that explores and promotes Arkansas’s rich history through identifying, collecting, and preserving records that are of enduring value to the state.

Explore the Center’s online Catalog and online Exhibits.

Contact the Center at cahc@ualr.edu or (501) 320-5780.

Mission

The UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture collects, keeps safe, and makes available Arkansas history that connects people to each other and their shared experiences.

Credits

Dr. Deborah Baldwin – Associate Provost and Director, Center for Arkansas History and Culture
Cody Besett – Student Success Archivist, Center for Arkansas History and Culture
Scott Bradshaw – Undergraduate Intern
Dr. Marta Cieslak – Humanities Scholar for History Alive: Virtually!
AJ Fox – Graduate Assistant, Center for Arkansas History and Culture
Lauren Fontaine – Graduate Assistant, Center for Arkansas History and Culture
Brittany Fugate – Graduate Assistant, Center for Arkansas History and Culture
Laura McClellan – Assistant Director, Center for Arkansas History and Culture
Harrison Mitchell – Graduate Assistant, Center for Arkansas History and Culture
Elise Tanner – Director of Digital Projects and Initiatives, Center for Arkansas History and Culture

About the Project History Alive: Virtually! was supported in part by a grant from the Arkansas Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
