{"id":33,"date":"2014-06-05T20:37:23","date_gmt":"2014-06-05T20:37:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ualrexhibits.org\/lifeinterrupted\/?page_id=33"},"modified":"2023-09-07T19:30:24","modified_gmt":"2023-09-07T19:30:24","slug":"the-collection","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ualrexhibits.org\/lifeinterrupted\/the-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"The Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>\n\t\tAbout the Collection\n\t<\/h2>\n\tThe Life Interrupted Collection contains correspondence, publications, microfilm, photographs, memorabilia, and digital media collected and created by the project, <em>Life Interrupted: The Japanese American Experience in World War II Arkansas.<br \/>\n<\/em>\n<p>The materials are a valuable resource for students and researchers interested in the incarceration of Japanese and Japanese Americans at Rohwer Relocation Center and Jerome Relocation Center in Arkansas.<\/p>\n<p>Resources includes the project&#8217;s administrative files, research files, audiovisual materials from the conference, &#8220;Camp Connections: A Conversation about Civil Rights and Social Justice in Arkansas,&#8221; (2004), footage for the documentary, <em>Time of Fear<\/em> (2005), and donations received from individuals concerning Japanese American internment.<\/p>\n\t<p>This collection is arranged in five series:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>Series I contains individual files, consisting of materials that were copied or donated by individuals to Life Interupted, including correspondance, photographs, digital media, yearbooks, and artifacts.<\/li>\n<li>Series II contains research files of published and unpublished manuscript materials that were collected by the Life Interupted project.<\/li>\n<li>Series III contains audiovisual materials from the conference, &#8220;Camp Connections: A Conversation about Civil Rights and Social Justice in Arkansas,&#8221; on 2004 September 25. Also included are publicity materials concerning conference.<\/li>\n<li>Series IV contains audiovisual materials from the making of the <em>Time of Fear<\/em> documentary, including vider footage and still images.<\/li>\n<li>Series V contains the Administrative Project Files, which included the correspondance, brochures, minutes, and digital files documenting the Life Interupted project&#8217;s activities, including organizing the Camp Connections conference, exhibits, and <em>Time of Fear<\/em> documentary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<p>*The banner photo shows women in a home economics class sit at their desks with their teacher looking on.<\/p>\n\tngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n\t<p>This collections <a href=\"https:\/\/arstudies.contentdm.oclc.org\/digital\/collection\/findingaids\/id\/5137\">finding aid<\/a> is available through Arkansas Studies research portal.<\/p>\n\t<p>The University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the Central Arkansas Library System have created the state&#8217;s largest facility dedicated to the study of Arkansas history and culture in the Bobby L.
