{"id":51,"date":"2014-06-05T20:56:49","date_gmt":"2014-06-05T20:56:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ualrexhibits.org\/lifeinterrupted\/?page_id=51"},"modified":"2022-07-19T18:26:48","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T18:26:48","slug":"about-the-collection","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ualrexhibits.org\/lifeinterrupted\/the-collection\/about-the-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"About the Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>The Life Interrupted Collection contains correspondence, publications, microfilm, photographs, memorabilia, and digital media collected and created by the project, <em>Life Interrupted: The Japanese American Experience in World War II Arkansas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The materials are a valuable resource for students and researchers interested in the incarceration of Japanese and Japanese Americans at Rohwer Relocation Center and Jerome Relocation Center in Arkansas.<\/p>\n<p>Resources includes the project&#8217;s administrative files, research files, audiovisual materials from the conference, &#8220;Camp Connections: A Conversation about Civil Rights and Social Justice in Arkansas,&#8221; (2004), footage for the documentary, <i>Time of Fear<\/i> (2005), and donations received from individuals concerning Japanese American internment.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_151\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-151\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ualrexhibits.org\/lifeinterrupted\/files\/2014\/06\/IMG_1037_web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ualrexhibits.org\/lifeinterrupted\/files\/2014\/06\/IMG_1037_web-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"An exhibit highlights a few items from the collection\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-151\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">An exhibit highlights a few items from the collection.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This collection is arranged in five series:<\/p>\n<p>Series I contains individual files, consisting of materials that were copied or donated by individuals to Life Interrupted, including correspondence, photographs, digital media, yearbooks, and artifacts.<\/p>\n<p>Series II contains research files of published and unpublished manuscript materials that were collected by the Life Interrupted project.<\/p>\n<p>Series III contains audiovisual materials from the conference, &#8220;Camp Connections: A Conversation about Civil Rights and Social Justice in Arkansas,&#8221; on 2004 September 25. Also included are publicity materials concerning conference.<\/p>\n<p>Series IV contains audiovisual materials from the making of the <i>Time of Fear<\/i> documentary, including video footage and still images.<\/p>\n<p>Series V contains the Administrative Project Files, which includes the correspondence, brochures, minutes, and digital files documenting the Life Interrupted project&#8217;s activities, including organizing the Camp Connections conference, exhibits, and <i>Time of Fear<\/i> documentary.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-summary\"><div class=\"entry-summary\">\n<p>The Life Interrupted Collection contains correspondence, publications, microfilm, photographs, memorabilia, and digital media collected and created by the project, Life Interrupted: The Japanese American Experience in World War II Arkansas.
