About us

Funded by a 2018 grant from the Library of Congress - Teaching with Primary Sources Regional Grant Program, Arkansas Primary Source Sets is a project of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) Center for Arkansas History and Culture (CAHC), in partnership with the UALR History Department, UALR History/Social Studies Education program alumni, and the Little Rock School District. The project’s goals are to increase utilization of Library of Congress primary source materials within Central Arkansas schools, to develop primary source sets of LOC materials based on the Arkansas state social studies frameworks for use in teaching United States and Arkansas History, and to disseminate primary source sets through an accessible website and teacher workshops. To schedule a teacher workshop, suggest topics for future primary source sets, or contribute to this project, e-mail Kristin Dutcher Mann at kdmann@ualr.edu.
