This blog documents the digitization of materials related to segregation and integration of Arkansas’s Educational System.<\/p>\n
Made possible by a grant from the Digitizing Hidden Collections Initiative sponsored by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) and funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, “The Road from Hell is Paved with Little Rocks: Digitizing the History of Segregation and Integrations of Arkansas’s Educational System” includes work to digitize and make accessible related materials from the collections of CAHC, Central Arkansas Library System’s Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, and the Central High School National Historic Site.<\/p>\n
The UA Little Rock\u00a0Center for Arkansas History and Culture<\/a>, located in the Bobby L. Roberts Library, offers a collection of resources, including significant papers of Arkansas governors Carl Bailey, Winthrop Rockefeller, Dale Bumpers, Frank White, and Jim Guy Tucker. In total, the collections comprise about 10,000 linear feet, 70,000+ images, and approximately 8,000 books.<\/p>\n The UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture collects, keeps safe, and makes available Arkansas history that connects people to each other and their shared experiences.<\/p>\n The collections are available at the Bobby L.
