The exhibit explores the impact of the steamboat on Arkansas from its arrival at Arkansas Post in 1820 until it was surpassed by the railroad as the main means of transportation in the years after the Civil War. The exhibit places special emphasis on the artwork of Frederick T. Anderson, as well as photographs and letters from archival collections. This exhibit grew from a partnership between the UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture and The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas.<\/p>\n
