The Center for Arkansas History and Culture (CAHC) at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock strives to be a unique and reliable resource that explores and promotes Arkansas’s rich history through identifying, collecting, and preserving Arkansas records that are of enduring value to the state.

Mission

The UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture collects, keeps safe, and makes available Arkansas history that connects people to each other and their shared experiences.

About the Exhibit

_______________________________________________________

"Zero Hour: Arkansas in 1980" explores the year 1980 as a pivotal moment in both American and Arkansas history. It focuses on the Titan II disaster in Damascus, the ERArkansas women’s rights activist group, and the 1980 Arkansas Constitutional Convention, and it further engages viewers by providing an interactive experience based on historical materials from the CAHC's collections.

This online exhibit was a collaborative project by graduate assistants for the Center for Arkansas History and Culture: Acadia Roher, Laura Fuentes, and Emily Summers. Local Arkansans also contributed by providing quotes about their personal experiences of the Titan II disaster.
