About the Exhibit
Appreciating the place of food in American daily life has become critical in the United States as people are increasingly dependent on processed foods. Our project will encourage students and community members of Arkansas to examine Arkansas foods and food customs and to understand their significance within society. Practices related to food production and consumption affect every community in our state. By identifying the intersection between food and Arkansas's culture, tradition, and history, the unique heritage of Arkansas foodways will be discovered.
About CAHC
The UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture offers a collection of resources, including papers, books, photographs, maps, and audio/visual materials, related to history, government, and life in Arkansas. Holdings related to government include five former governors and several legislators.
Mission
The UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture collects, keeps safe, and makes available Arkansas History that connects people to each other and their shared experiences.
