About

About the Project

History Alive: Virtually! was supported in part by a grant from the Arkansas Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

History Alive: Virtually! features a curated set of digitized primary sources from the UA Little Rock Center for Arkansas History and Culture (CAHC). The sources are organized in ten thematic virtual mini-collections, each of which contains exercises that can be used in the face-to-face, virtual, or hybrid classroom. Additionally, a comprehensive list of CAHC’s digitized primary sources has been compiled and made searchable for easy reference. The project also includes a workshop for educators and contributed additional digitized items to the public catalog.

The CAHC worked collaboratively to produce this project. The project’s Humanities Scholar, Dr. Marta Cieslak, curated sources for and created activities included in the ten thematic virtual mini-collections. Cody Besett oversaw the creation of a comprehensive list of CAHC’s digitized primary sources and supervised graduate assistants, Lauren Fontaine, AJ Fox, Brittany Fugate, and Harrison Mitchell, and an undergraduate intern, Scott Bradshaw, who all contributed to the project. Elise Tanner designed and developed the project’s website. Laura McClellan served as the project manager and provided administrative support. Dr. Deborah Baldwin was the project’s Principal Investigator.
